FAMILY FIRST. THEN TEAM. THEN SELF.
We are a small but mighty family. One wife, one daughter in her final year of high school, me and 2 chiens de fous (crazy dogs!). I thank my lucky stars for this fortune. I’ve watched my daughter morph into a young intelligent woman and my marriage become more than I ever imagined. We are stronger than ever, and more fun. Our family always seems to be changing as we reach our goals and set new ones. It’s exciting. Trust is so important. Being kind to each other, always, is a great rule. And we relentlessly strive to see the best in each other.

I approach leading a team in the same way. Create trust. Grow and set new goals together. And see the promise of what could be, manifest it and then celebrate it. Let’s be better than we ever thought we could be.

As far as taking care of myself? I’m all good. After all, what I’m really talking about here is love, and I feel it.

Facts and Feelings
I broke my nose playing Little League Baseball. Still very crooked, too scared to re-break it. Just ask, I love to show it off.

I rode my bicycle across the United States from Portland, Oregon to Boston Massachusetts. It was the single most challenging experience in my life.

I’ve visited 47 states so far. Missing Maine, New Hampshire and Alaska.

I’m still married to one of my clients for 19 years, now THAT’s full service.

Started the first Mac Club at SJSU in 1986.

I like all types of music. Rock. Punk, Country and Western. Reggae. Classical, Hip Hop. A few I really like; Radiohead. The Dead. Quest. Sabbath, Etc.

I play an awful guitar and can’t sing a lick, yet I love to do both.

I’m an A’s fan, I like the Giants, a member of the Raider Nation, I believe in the Warriors.

I’m a motorcyclist enthusiast. I’ve owned many. I’ll probably own many more.

I’ve finished four mini triathlons in my life, I’d like to do another.

I’ve been Mountain Biker most of my life. I’ve also crashed so severely that my shoulder was in a harness for 5 months. I still ride, in a more appropriate fashion though. Safety third.

I was once knocked out by a frozen turkey at the grocery store I worked at. No known damage.

My family housed a foreign exchange student from Brazil when I was 6. He’s 60+ now.  He visited at my house (again) this year for about the 5th time. My brother from another mother I guess.

My favorite book is “The 15 Lives of Harry August” by Claire North.

I’m an amatuer screen printer— posters mostly.

I’ve written a children’s book “Everybody Jumped” about being in this thing called life together. Next step, getting it published and saving humankind.

My favorite painting is Georges Rochegrosse “The Knight of the Flowers”. It lives at the Museum D’orsay in Paris. I’ve been lucky enough to see it a few times. Each time, I am completely confused how a single human being could possibly make something so incredible.

Pelé signed an autographed leather soccer ball and gave it to me. I played with it in the street until it was scuffed and torn. I like to think he’d like that we played with it as opposed to admire it on a shelf.

I’ve owned 3 houses, all fixer uppers. Ugh. No more. I’m staying put in this last one.

I am a 5th generation Californian and I don’t like avocado, or fish or mayonnaise.

My parents were nextdoor neighbors in Berkeley when they were kids and they are still married today. It was fun to visit my grandparents that way.

Recently, I drove the entire Route 66 “Old Road” with my Dad. There is so much wonder and life on that road. And really cool, old signs.

Seeing anything live amazes me. Concerts, speakers, plays, magicians, demonstrations...the bravery.

I only have one cavity. Filled by family dentist, Dr. Ochikubo (AKA Dr Ouch!).

I bite my nails and I’m a horrible human for doing so.

I’m one of 3 brothers, 4 years apart top to bottom. I’m the baby. My brothers are two of my best friends.
